On the other hand, the government is also trying to invest in seaplanes in order to attract more tourists to the state, which will in turn help in improving the local economy.

Earlier, the Mamta Banerjee government had assured that the coastal town of Digha would soon be turned into a thriving beach town, bustling with tourists. Over time, several developments works have been undertaken here ad other beach destinations of East Midnapore. Reports suggest that the state government is intending to bring water-friendly aircraft that will land on water. The passengers in the aircraft can they board vessels or boats to come ashore.
