It’s not often that you get to visit a paradise as beautiful as Manali flaked with snowcapped peaks, lush greenery, pristine water bodies and utterly pure air. So, why not make the most of your trip? Here are secret trails of Manali that only the locals know and perhaps you should too.

1. Chikka

A secret trekking trail in Manali you must visit is Chikka. Starting from the AD Hydel project on the Chikka road, this is a dense forest trail that takes you all the way to the emerald blue water of the Dohangan river. Migratory birds often flock to the river and during the monsoon season, it’s truly a paradise on earth. Interestingly, Chikka is a fascinating spot for history buffs who flock here to spot an ancient snake fossil.

2. Lamadugh

Did you know that near Manali’s famous Hadimba temple and the Mall Road, you’d find an unexplored path to nature’s beauty? Lamadugh trekking trail of just 3 km, perfect for beginners will take you through Manali’s dense forests of cedar, deodar and pine trees. 3. Goshal Village

When Goshal village is a fairytale abode that is straight out of a Himachali postcard. A charming wooden bridge on a little river that flows around the village will steal your heart. It exuberates the untouched beauty of Old Manali. 4. Rumsu Village

Rumsu is not your ordinary village. It in fact has a 1000-year-old history. This ancient Himalayan village is actually the base camp of the Chandrakhani Pass trek that leads travellers to Malana. To reach Rumsu village you need to drive down 45 minutes from Manali main town. This secret trekking trail starts from Chakki Nala. Walk through dense forests and witness the gushing Beas River as you reach Rumsu village.
