Sharjah Gets An Exuberant Solar Car That Costs AED 900,000

Soon after the cars go on sale in Europe at the end of 2022, the Lightyear0, the first solar car in the world that is ready for manufacturing, will come to the UAE early the following year. The Lightyear automobiles, which cost Dh900,000 each, will go through testing and will be sold in the Middle East. Yes, you heard that right! Let’s check out more about this solar car coming to Sharjah.

Mind-Blowing Features Of This Car Coming To Sharjah

The car has a 625-kilometre battery range and a peak speed of 160 km/h. It has an additional solar range of up to 70 km per day and up to 11,000 km of solar output annually. The car’s inside is made from recycled PET bottle materials, plant-based leather, and sustainably rebuilt rattan palm, making it extremely eco-friendly.

The driving range will vary based on driving behaviours, location, and season, the business stated on its website. But before rolling this beast out in the streets, testing is to be needed as per the temperatures of the UAE.

This Is The First Commercial Solar-Powered Car

This will be the first solar electric car to sell on a commercial scale. Vehicles using solar energy have seldom progressed past the experimental stage. According to Lightyear, you can operate the car for up to seven months without a charge in sunny regions.

Vehicles tested in Europe cross 600 kilometres on a single battery charge. The curved solar panels use solar energy to increase the driving range by around 70 kilometres. The panels constantly gather energy from the sun to recharge the electric battery. However, the architecture enables the vehicle to operate for several months without the need for a rechargeable battery.
