Arada recently revealed a new iconic performing art centre in Sharjah called II Teatro at Aljada. This was designed by a Japanese architect Tadao Ando. The beautiful performing arts centre is expected to play a prominent role in the largest lifestyle community of Aljada in Sharjah. Not to mention, the master developer behind this has also revealed the design of the striking structure.
II Teatro At Aljada To Open In 2027
Spread over an area of a whopping, 260,000 ft.², II Teatro at Aljada is expected to open in 2027. Its surrounding plaza is also expected to host a wide range of performances and shows. These can include everything from opera and theatre to dance, musicals, concerts, films, and even ballet. As it happens, the area is also going to host art, exhibitions, and festivals at its 2000-seat auditorium. Incorporating a gallery and boutique restaurant, this auditorium is certainly a full-fledged cultural complex.
As mentioned previously, the brilliant structure has been designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who is known for his trademark architectural simplicity. Coming to the design of this striking structure, it comprises a pure, cylindrical, concrete mass, and has a multi-layer cultural plaza. Not to mention, it is further defined by a dramatic secondary feature and a large arch opening that enlivens the front of the building. As a result, the latter forms a strong connection between its interior and exterior.
More About The Striking Building
The building is spread across two levels and this plaza is an elevated public space floating above water. In fact, it contains a large outdoor amphitheatre that faces Il Teatro and is brought to life by a series of events and activities, which provide a multidimensional experience. With the motive of inspiring local artists and the growing creative community in the nation, this cultural complex is certainly nothing short of spectacular.

What More There Is To Know About The Performing Arts Theatre?
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that II Teatro is located within Aljada which is situated on the main access road into the master community. It also happens to sit at the centre of the Naseej creative district. For those who aren’t aware, it is a cluster of 19 buildings, which also incorporates the Vida Aljada hotel and branded apartments complex. Moreover, residents in the creative district will be able to enjoy access to Il Teatro via 2 green spines or the urban parks featuring lush foliage and density coverage. As it happens, they will also be able to enjoy a rich calendar of events, performances, and exhibitions.
It’s worth mentioning that the construction of the Naseej creative district is already underway and the work on the II Teatro will begin next year. With the plaza expected to be completed in 2027, this is certainly going to be a great architectural highlight of the emirate.
