His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday, visited the Dubai Water Canal. Sheikh Mohammed rode the path while being accompanied by Dubai government representatives. The seven-kilometer Dubai Water Canal cycling path is well-liked by bikers in Dubai.

 His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on a bicycle, toured the cycling path of the Dubai Water Canal. 

While cycling with others, Sheikh Mohammed was seen sporting a black T-shirt and sneakers. Cycling is encouraged in Dubai, and new routes are frequently added for both locals and visitors. A 93-kilometer indoor walking and cycling track with the name Loop was recently announced for the city.

The Dubai Ruler has already been observed around the city riding bike lanes. Sheikh Mohammed was observed last year inspecting a recently constructed bike route close to Jumeirah Beach.

UAE Tour 2023

He recently attended the fourth stage of the UAE Tour 2023, which was held in Dubai, in February of this year. As the competitors rode their bicycles throughout the tour route in the Al Marmoom region, Sheikh Mohammed greeted them. 

Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, and Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Chairman of Protocols for the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, accompanied him.

The goal of Dubai’s Master Plan for Cycling Tracks 2026 is to build 276 km more of cycling lanes, bringing the emirate’s total cycling lanes to 739 km. 

The plan intends to connect the exterior tracks at Al Qudra and Saih Al Salam with the tracks at the coastal districts, such as Jumeirah, Al Sufouh, and Al Marina.
