It consists of 30 places from around the globe and Sikkim is the only Indian destination to make it to the list. Sikkim One Of The Coolest Places To Visit As Per National Geographic
With the new year just around the corner, people are once again planning for all the exciting trips they’ll take in 2024. This handy list by National Geographic will certainly help them zero in on a place and help them if they’re looking for recommendations. It covers various well-known and not-so-well-known destinations across the world.
In a moment that is sure to make all Indians proud, Sikkim is one of the destinations on the list. In fact, it is the only Indian destination on the list. It is also remarkable that Sikkim was one of the only three destinations picked within Asia. The other two were Tainan in Taiwan and Xi-an in China. All three destinations are certainly worth visiting but Sikkim is quite special.
The Indian state is known for its ethereal beauty and lush greenery. It is home to the highest Himalayan peak in India, the Kangchenjunga mountain! It is also the third-highest mountain in the entire world! Sikkim is also blessed with immense biodiversity. Its Blood Pheasant is especially well-known.
The state is also dotted with quaint Buddhist monasteries that transport you to a different world entirely! So if you’re looking to get in touch with your higher self, there couldn’t be a better place than Sikkim!
