In a report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that from June 1 onwards, all single-use bags will be banned in Dubai. This ban extends to both plastic and paper bags, which comes into effect in less than three months. The move comes after the emirates had mandated businesses to impose a charge of 25fils on single-use plastic bags, in the beginning of this year. Not to mention, this policy covers single-use bags, which are generally used for carrying goods. In fact, people are being encouraged to bring their own bags for shopping that they can use for carrying stuff.
