Minifootball (WMF) World Cup In Ras Al Khaimah

The Minifootball (WMF) World Cup is slated to take place in Ras Al Khaimah between October 26 and November 4, 2023. This was agreed upon by the executive committee of the World Minifootball Federation. This was done after conducting a thorough check-up on the environment of the stadium and giving a closer look at the accommodation options to be available for players and the staff. Moreover, the reason for this postponement of the date is the intention to reach better media visibility. As it happens, the tournament will bring together 24 national teams and thousands of spectators to the Emirate.

A destination reputed for staging international sporting events, Ras Al Khaimah has already hosted several high-profile events. So, these include the Ras Al Khaimah half marathon, Road Cycling Competition, and international golf championships. For those who aren’t aware, this tournament is a mega-international football competition. And it is held every two years, attracting several thousand spectators and fans from around the world. And this coveted tournament is being hosted in the Middle East for the first time! Not to mention, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority was selected as a destination over other shortlisted contenders, like Manila and Budapest.

What Is World Minifootball Federation?

Talking about the World Minifootball Federation – this is a not-for-profit organisation. with the purpose of promoting, supervising, and directing minifootball in the world. Using this to contribute towards the positive development of society, minifootball means small-sided football open for amateur players. The competitions focus on player development, team building, fair play, and inter-relations between players who partake in this tournament on a global scale. Not to mention, they have a branch in nearly 100 countries and five continents! These include America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, WMF organises the WMF World Cup every two years.
