Smriti Irani Shares Moringa Dal Recipe On Curly Tales’s Sunday Brunch
During the interview, Kamiya asked Smriti if there is a meal that really touches her soul. The Minister replied that it all depends on her mood. On days when she is away from home for 7-8 days due to incessant travel, Smriti seeks comfort in Moringa Dal and Chawal. Calling it a version of Parsi Dal-Chawal, she shared a short recipe for the same.
“First, boil arhar dal (masoor dal) with a pinch of salt and haldi,” she explains. Next, Smriti states that one can grind the dal with a churner or add it in a mixer. Then, a tadka of jeera, garlic and tomato is added, to finish the Moringa Dal. Furthermore, she said that vegetarians can also have this recipe. Interestingly, Moringa Masoor Dal as it’s packed with drumsticks is a great source of iron for vegetarians.
