Sonu Sood Revealed How He Got His First-Ever Role As An Actor

In the recent episode of Sunday Brunch, we invited real-life hero Sonu Sood for a hearty meal at Shifuku by Curly Tales in Mumbai. Over some delicious Pan-Asian food, we talked to him about his upcoming directorial debut Fateh, his diet, modelling days, and his first-ever movie! Sonu Sood Talks About His First-Ever Movie Role

Sonu Sood is an absolutely amazing actor. Over the last 25 years, he has worked in many hit Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. While he has played the role of a villain in several movies, the man has a heart of gold and won many hearts for his philanthropic work during COVID-19.

During the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani asked Sonu Sood about how he scored his first role as an actor. He said that he started working with a few small assignments like music videos. His first-ever role as an actor was in a South Indian movie.

He remembered he used to have a pager during that time and got a message asking him if he was “interested in doing a movie down south.” Of course, he got excited and rushed to a PCO near his then-home in Lokhandwala. On the call, he got to know about the Tamil movie Kallazhagar starring Vijayakanth. He was offered the role of the villain in the movie and he accepted it right away.

When he told his mother, she even sent him a book titled ‘How To Learn Tamil’ to help him in his new endeavour. He then took a train to Chennai and even before signing the movie, started practicing a few words of Tamil. Talk about commitment!

Sonu’s First Modelling Shoot & Everything That Went Wrong!

During the fun chat, we asked Sonu Sood if he remembered his first-ever assignment and paycheck. Walking down memory lane, he replied that when he first came to Delhi, he got a modelling assignment for ₹3,500. He candidly confessed that he was quite excited about it as well.

Unfortunately, it was during a time when there was a conjunctivitis outbreak in Delhi. While roaming around the city, he felt a little discomfort in his eyes and he knew this could be quite an issue. He tried cleaning his eyes with water but it was of no use. He remembered he had the shoot on Friday and woke up with swollen eyes on the day of the shoot. He didn’t even inform the brand about his issue and went for the shoot anyway. After some discussion, the photographer and brand officials decided to shoot anyway and fix his eyes with Photoshop later. Well, all’s well that ends well!
