The proposal of this one-of-a-kind journey between Mangaluru and Goa will connect different cities of Kerala such as Beypore, Kochi, Kollam, and Kovalam, as per the GO issued by the Tourism Department. The Kerala government has already made a sanction of ₹5 crores for the cruise tourism project. According to the draft policy curated by the Director of Tourism, this amount has been decided, as shared by one of the tourism department officials.

For the new cruise, the expert committee has a deadline of a month to prepare a draft of an amended cruise policy. The expert committee is a team of officials and people from the tourism department. The committee’s Chairman is the principal secretary of the tourism department and the convenor is the director of tourism. Officials from the Kerala Inland Shipping and Navigation department and the Ports department are also on this team.

People are very excited about this new cruise project. It is easy to guess that this will be a major boost to the state tourism sector. Jose Dominic is the former CEO of CGH Earth and he shared that this is the best way to present Kerala to tourists all around the world. He also shared how this water route will expand the state’s tourist industry. When the initiative will get implemented, it will be a great example.
