You will no longer need to head to customer service centres to pay up your traffic fines. Starting April, eight services will be moving to a digital platform.

What’s It?

Paying your traffic fines or request accident reports just got easier in Dubai, thanks to digitization. Dubai’s traffic related services are going digital and you can now get the processing done via e-platforms and smart applications.

According to the Dubai police, eight traffic services will go digital, starting this April. The services that will no longer be available at the police’s customer service centre include:

Payment of traffic violations
Filing a request to convert payments into installments
Issuance of reports on traffic accidents without injuries
Issuance of lost traffic accident reports
Issuance of traffic status certificates
Issuance of traffic accident reports against an unknown person
Issuance of traffic clearance certificates
Issuance of a list of traffic violations

Brig Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi, director-general of artificial intelligence added that payments can be made at money exchange centers. Meanwhile, all other services will be available online or at scattered kiosks set up in malls and other areas in the country. Further, the police will also provide assistance for members who need help with smart platforms. Staff will be allotted at kiosks to guide customers through the new process.

What Else?

That’s not all! While currently, only eight services have been moved to the digital platform, traffic authorities aim to add four more services to this list by July, this year. These include payment for vehicle confiscation and requesting to pay traffic violation fines through cheques.
