The Dubai RTA recently revealed that there will be Improvement of the Umm Suqeim Street Project, which will enhance the connectivity of four traffic corridors. Yes, according to the information released by the government body, it was mentioned that the traffic corridors on Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and Emirates Road will improve.

Dubai RTA Reveals Improvement Of Umm Suqeim Street Project

In a tweet by the authority on X (formerly Twitter), it was mentioned that HE Mattar Al Tayer, the Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA has mentioned that there will be improvement in the street. This is crucial for enhancing connectivity between East-West transverse streets and North-South vertical streets. So, it should be noted that the improvement of the Umm Suqeim Street Project will include an 800 m tunnel of four lanes in each direction. Not to mention, the project will also increase the capacity of the street to 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.

It Will Reduce Travel Time Between Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road & Al Khail Road

As it happens, with the improvement on the important street, the travel time between Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road will reduce from 9.7 minutes to just a mere 3.8 minutes. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that the contract for this improvement project has been awarded. And it’s going to cost a whopping AED332 million! Not to mention, with the improvement once done, it’s going to ensure smoother traffic in both directions.

Recently A Bridge Was Also Constructed On Umm Suqeim Street

Additionally, this 4-km long project comes after recently a bridge was constructed on Umm Suqeim Street at its intersection with Dubai Hills and Al Barsha entrances. In case you’re wondering, this street once completed, is going to serve several residential and development areas. Yes, these include Al Barsha South 1, 2, and 3, and Dubai Hills.

It really is going to improve traffic once the street project is completed!
