Railways To Restart Serving Cooked Meals To Passengers On Trains

After domestic flights, Railways is also set to resume serving cooked meals in trains. The Railway Board has notified about the resumption of cooked meal services in trains. It added that serving of ready-to-eat meals will continue too. The board has sent a letter to IRCTC to resume the serving of cooked meals. The letter reads, “In view of the restoration of normal train services, requirements of travelling passengers and easing of Covid lockdown restrictions in eateries, restaurants, hotels and such other places across the country, it has been decided by the Ministry of Railways to resume the services of cooked food in trains.

Centre Allows Domestic Flights Of All Durations To Provide Meals, Magazines To Passengers

India’s Covid-19 cases have been reduced to a great extent so the Ministry of Civil Aviation has permitted all domestic flights to serve meals, newspapers and magazines. Previously airlines were banned from serving meals on flights that are less than 2 hours in duration to ensure passenger safety. Now that cases have come down, passengers can enjoy food, read magazines and newspapers on all domestic flights.

SpiceJet Launches 42 New Flights On Its Network To Surat, Udaipur, Patna & Gwalior

SpiceJet said that the airline has launched 42 new flights across its domestic and international networks that will commence from July 10. The Gurugram-based will launch flights on Surat-Jabalpur and Surat-Pune routes. They will also roll out non-stop return flights on Gwalior-Ahmedabad, Gwalior-Mumbai, and Gwalior-Pune routes. Kolkata-Patna, Patna-Surat, Surat-Patna, Patna-Kolkata, Ahmedabad-Udaipur, Udaipur-Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru-Kochi routes will also have new flights.

Vistara Announces 48-Hour Monsoon Sale

A 48-hour monsoon sale is going on for Vistara flights for economy, premium economy and business class flights. The bookings for these tickets have started from 12.01 AM on June 24, 2021 and the sale will end at 11.59 PM on June 25 for journeys between August 1 and October 12. Bookings have started on the Vistara website, Vistara mobile app, airport ticket offices ( ATOs) of Vistara, through call centres and via travel agents. There are limited seats for the offer and will be available only on ‘first-come, first-serve’ basis. So, hurry up!

Vistara Operates India’s First Flight With Fully Vaccinated Crew From Delhi To Mumbai

Vistara has flown the first flight of India with fully vaccinated crew members and pilots from Delhi to Mumbai on June 16, 2021. All the cabin crew members and the pilots of the flight were inoculated with both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. The Chief Commercial Officer of Vistara, Vinod Kannan, while talking about the flight with the fully vaccinated crew, has also confirmed that almost 100% of Vistara’s eligible staff have now received at least their first dose of the vaccine. He added, ” We continue to put in efforts to make sure that they get their second dose as soon as possible as well.”

In a tweet, Vistara stated, “Making history by operating India’s first flight with fully vaccinated cabin crew and pilots! A huge milestone in our efforts to ensure.”

Govt Doctors & Nurses Can Fly Free Of Cost Across India On Vistara Flights

Vistara offered to fly doctors and nurses representing government organisations free of cost across India amid a surge in Covid cases. The airline stated in a letter to Usha Padhee, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, “…we want to help government organisations/hospitals in immediate need of air logistics. We welcome requests from accredited organisations representing the Government of India and state governments/union territories. We will evaluate these to extend as much support as possible, based on the availability of cargo space.”

Medical Professionals Can Book Free Flights On First-Come-First-Serve Basis

The letter further adds, “We are also happy to fly doctors and nurses representing government organisations, free of cost, across our domestic network, and also fly them back on the conclusion of their service. The personnel who avail this service will have to mandatorily follow all the travel related SOPs and present relevant identification and documentation.” Due to a limit availability of seats, medical professionals can avail these free flights on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Usha Padhee tweeted the letter and also replied “Wish to commend generous offer by Vistara to Govt Organisations and Hospitals in immediate need of air logistics. They’ve also offered to fly Doctors & Nurses representing Govt organisations, free of cost, across the domestic network. Let’s fight the pandemic together!” It’s indeed heartwarming to see the nation coming together.
