State Of War Announced In Israel & Over 500 People Killed; All About The Ongoing Situation

On Saturday, October 7, Hamas attacked Israel, which resulted in the killing of hundreds of people and injuring over 1,000 people. Ever since, a full-fledged war has broken out in the nation, as declared by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a video statement. Here’s a look at the escalating situation in the country that has affected scores of people.

During a major Jewish holiday on Saturday, October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack with a barrage of rockets on Israel. Not to mention, they also broke out of the blockaded Gaza Strip and flooded into the town, killing over 300 people and abducting many others. A report by the Hindustan Times mentions that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, declared the nation to be at war after the multi-prolonged attack at dawn.

As it happens, several Israeli media outlets were seen sighting rescue service officials by mentioning that about 300 people had been killed and 1,500 had been wounded. This attack is seen to be the deadliest in decades. Nearly 232 people in the Gaza Strip have also been killed after retaliatory strikes and about 1700 have been wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

What About Flights To & From Israel?

In view of the state of panic, a slew of airlines have also cancelled their flights. For instance, Delta, American Airlines, Lufthansa, and Air India have cancelled flights to and from Israel after the attacks. It’s worth mentioning that so far Emirates and Etihad have not been affected according to a report by Khaleej Times. Additionally, Air France-KLM group’s low-cost carrier, Transavia also cancelled its flight between Paris and Tel Aviv.

On the other hand, some flydubai flights have also been affected as a few of them had been cancelled on Saturday.
