Nearly 130 kilometres away from Shimla, lies the pristine village of Charang. The unspoilt beauty of the mountainscapes of Charang can take the breath away of any nature enthusiast. Inhabited by only a handful of families, the village sits at a height of around 3500 metres in one of the isolated corners of the northern Himalayas. Charang is located in Himachal’s Kinnaur valley. Locals here follow a simple, sustainable life and live in wood and mud huts. And every home in Charang has solar panels that help in deriving electricity in the bitterly cold winters.
