Soon, the Assembly elections will be held in Maharashtra. Different places statewide will participate in the elections. Scheduled to be conducted in a single phase on November 20, 2024, Maharashtra will observe dry days on five different dates this month. According to guidelines, liquor sales will be closed during this period in view of the elections, counting of votes, and more such events. To know more about these dates, read on.

All About Dry Days In Maharashtra

Mumbai: 

  • Mumbaikars, you must note that your city will observe dry days on November 12, 18, 19, 20, and 23. The duration will be different every day.
  • The first dry day will be observed throughout the entire November 12.
  • The next day for a dry day is November 18. Liquor stores will not sell alcohol from 6 PM.
  • November 19 will be observed as a dry day throughout.
  • Next, Maharashtra will follow a dry day on November 20 till 6 PM.
  • The alcohol shops will be closed till 6 PM on November 23.

Thane:

  • Keeping the election season in mind, liquor shops will not be operational in Thane for five days.
  • The pattern of observing dry days in Thane will exactly be the same as in Mumbai.

Pune: 

  • Punekars, you should start stocking up on booze in advance if you want to sip on some at your home during these days.
  • Just like Mumbai and Thane, this city in Maharashtra will observe dry days on November 12, 18, 19, 20, and 23.
  • The duration of liquor shops in Pune staying shut will be the same as in Mumbai and Thane.

The entire state will follow these dry days before, during, and after the elections.

November 24 will be a dry day due to Guru Tegh Bahadur Shaheedi Diwas.

Don’t worry if you feel like partying at home these days. Ahead of the dry days, stock up your favourite brands already. You can either visit a nearby shop or get bottles delivered to your doorstep.
