Tejasswi Prakash’s Mother Is Now Scared Of Cooking With Her; Here’s Why

Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, spent Gudi Padwa with Tejasswi Prakash. The latter invited us to her home, where she prepared a home-cooked Maharashtrian feast with her mother. Over delicious food and unfiltered conversations, Celebrity MasterChef India’s finalist Tejasswi Prakash revealed why her mother is scared of cooking with her.

Tejasswi Prakash Has Started Giving Cooking Tips To Her Mom

As Tejasswi Prakash entered the kitchen to cook fresh hot Bhakris for Kamiya Jani, she introduced us to her mother. Her mom was preparing Maharashtrian delicacies for Gudi Padwa. One look at the Koshimbir prepared by her mother, Tejasswi, was quick to suggest that it required more curd, curry leaves and cumin seeds. Kamiya told her mom that the actress had become a pro in cooking. After all, the Celebrity MasterChef contestant was giving tips to her own mother.

“She gets very scared to cook with me,” chimed the Naagin actress. As Kamiya laughed, Tejasswi stressed that she was serious. Her reasoning for more curd, jeera and kadipatta in the Koshimber? “It would look better na (on camera).” To those who don’t know about Koshimber, the actress said it’s kachumber (salad) with dahi (curd). The spiced yoghurt salad has tomatoes, onions and cucumber and lots of kothimber (coriander).

Tejasswi admitted to Maharashtrian people being “obsessed” with kothimber/dhaniya/coriander. Apart from coriander, she said Maharashtrians are also obsessed with kadipatta (curry leaves), khobra (coconut) and shengdana kut (crushed peanuts). And of course thecha, which she also included in her Kothimber Vadi. The actress reveals that thecha is smashed green chillies made in a silbatta or using a mortar and pestle.
