The Telangana Food Safety Department continues to conduct regular raids at restaurants, eateries, and food establishments. Just a couple of days back, a task force team headed to two restaurants in the Jubilee Hills area for inspection. They raided Daily Rituals and Heart Cup Coffee Restaurant and Bar on Road No. 45 and found both places violating several guidelines and not storing food articles properly. On December 13, the task force team raided Daily Rituals on Road No. 45. The team of officials seized 280ml of expired biryani flavours, 180g of samosa pastry, 9kg of broken kaju, 20kg of moong dal, 12kg of kabuli chaana, 200g of mushroom, and 2.8kg of shrimp paste. Broken kaju, moong dal, kabuli chaana, mushroom, and shrimp paste were thrown for violating labelling regulations.
While inspecting, they saw covered but unlabelled food articles in the refrigerator. In addition, refrigerators were very dirty. The flooring was wet and food waste was scattered in several places. They found food waste gathered in drains. Water analysis reports, FoSTaC certificates of employees, and pest control records were not available. Also, there was no display of the FSSAI licence.

Telangana Food Safety Department’s task force team inspected Heart Cup Coffee Restaurant and Bar in the Jubilee Hills area and found a live cockroach infestation in the kitchen. They discarded expired food items such as 6kg of Kissan tomato paste, 10kg of vanaspati, 1kg of oregano, and 8kg of peri peri marinade. Refrigerators, exhaust, flooring, walls, and kitchen ceiling were unclean.
They also threw away spoilt potatoes and tomatoes. The team discovered the restaurant staff refrigerating chicken and mutton in an unhygienic way leading to a risk of contamination. They did not find water analysis reports, pest control records, and FoSTaC certificates for employees. The kitchen floor had no drains for food waste. Tiles were broken in multiple places.
