West Bengal’s Siliguri is all set to host the first-ever Terai Himalayan Festival on February 23. This daylong cultural extravaganza is being organised by the Darjeeling District Administration, Siliguri Metropolitan Police, and Siliguri Municipal Corporation. This event aims to bring the community together while celebrating the cultural diversity of the district.

Terai Himalayan Festival Set To Debut In Siliguri

The first edition of the Terai Himalayan Festival is all set to take place in Siliguri, West Bengal on February 23. During the festival, the Hill Cart Road will transform into a hub of joy and creativity, stretching from Sevoke More to Airview More (Mahatma Gandhi More). The festival will be divided into two key components–Happy Street from 12 PM to 10 PM, and Cultural Programme from 6 PM onwards.

While talking to Telegraph India, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb revealed that the Terai Himalayan Festival has been planned to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Darjeeling district. He welcomed people to take part in the cultural extravaganza as well.

Preeti Goyel, District Magistrate of Darjeeling, said that the festival is not just about music and performances but a full-day experience for people of all ages. She highlighted that the festival will have cultural performances and traditional dances by artists from across North Bengal to showcase the region’s rich heritage.

All You Need To Know About The First Edition Of This Festival

The Terai Himalayan Festival in Siliguri aims to foster social harmony, promote tourism, and lastly, showcase the region’s rich heritage. People will be able to groove to the tunes of singer Subhash Biswakarma and YouTube sensation T.R.A.P Band there.

There will also be live interactive activities like clay pottery sessions, flower exhibitions, pet shows, puppet performances, Zumba sessions, a unique fashion show where grandparents will walk down the ramp with their grandchildren, and more.
