Phillaur Fort is one of the iconic places in Punjab’s Ludhiana. The fort still maintains the grandeur that it used to & is currently used for police training. Phillaur Fort, Renamed Maharaja Ranjit Singh Fort

It was in the year 1973 that this fort was renamed. And the space is primarily used for training police officials. The fort is one of the places you must visit, as it holds much significance about the history of the Mughals and the British during the early period. Further, the fort also holds a mausoleum within its premises. The Mazar is dedicated to Pir Baba Abdullah Shah Ji. The fort also houses the Police Training School. Apart from these, visitors can also check out the museum, where you can witness historical artefacts and learn more about the fort’s history. Also, you can visit the fort only on Thursday & not any other day of the week. Ensure to plan your visits accordingly.
