Gov Games is one of the most anticipated events, wherein teams participate from around the world. And it is returning to Dubai for its fifth edition on February 29. Yes, shining the spotlight on the power of sports to bring together communities, the participating teams will be representing public entities and several countries. Here’s all you need to know about the most expensive edition yet.

Gov Games Returns To Dubai On February 29

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Maktoum who is the Chairperson of the Executive Council of Dubai and Crown Prince of Dubai, Gov Games is returning to Dubai. The sporting event will take place in Dubai Festival City from February 29 to March 3. This is going to be an extraordinary spectacle, which will showcase strategic tests of endurance and stupendous physical feat over the course of four days.

194 Teams To Participate In Gov Games

As mentioned previously, this edition is expected to be the most expensive one yet! Yes, it will feature 194 teams across several categories. This will include the inaugural Junior Gov Games category, which will include competitors aged between 10 and 13 years. Moreover, it has been introduced to nurture the values of teamwork and personal development among the youth.

Coming to the adult categories, it will feature 84 male and 26 female teams. Yes, these will be from government entities in the Battle of the Government tournament. Additionally, there will be 28 teams that will compete in the Battle of the Community tournament and 28 teams from global cities who will compete in the Battle of the Cities. Moreover, 28 Junior Gov Games finalists will then embark on a journey of several physical and mentally demanding challenges that will test their endurance and teamwork.

What About The Prizes?

Coming to the prizes, the top teams in the adult categories will secure a prize of AED500000. While the winners in second and third places will receive AED250000 and AED150000, respectively. As for the Junior category, the winning team will get AED70000, and the runner-up will get AED56,000 while the third-placed team will get AED 35000.
