It hasn’t been too long since fruit has been creating waves on social media. Earlier, a couple from Madhya Pradesh grew the world’s costliest mangoes priced at ₹2.7 lakhs per kg. The ruby-red mangoes were guarded by security personnel and dogs. Now, if that wasn’t shocking enough, two Italian farmers have harvested the world’s largest and heaviest cherry weighing a whopping 33 grams where a normal cherry would just weigh around 7.2 to 15.3 grams. Here are all the deets about the cherry on this cake.

Two Italian Farmers Grew The World’s Biggest Cherry

Alberto and Giuseppe Rosso, two farmers from Italy have grown the world’s largest and heaviest cherry. This mammoth of a fruit weighing 33g broke the previous world’s record for the world’s heaviest cherry, weighing 26.45g. The two farmers grew this cherry in the Italian town of Pecetto Torinese, known for its cherry orchards. The Rosso family have been growing cherries for nearly 100 years. So, they are truly experts in the field. Alberto revealed to news agencies that they noticed their carmen cherries were Guinness world records in size. This year Alberto and Giuseppe Rosso decided to call the Guinness world records and do things right in front of a panel of experts.
