Here Are All The Long Weekends:
January 2023
- The new year starts on a Sunday. This weekend of 31 December 2022 and 1 January 2023 is a gala time to enjoy the outdoors. And for a long weekend, you can take a leave on 30 December and welcome the new year with a bang. Also, to extend it by a day, an off on 2 January is a good plan too.
- Lohri and Makar Sankranti will fall on 14 January, Saturday and Pongal on 15 January, Sunday. To make it a long holiday, take 2 offs on 13 January and 16 January.
- We celebrate Republic Day on 26 January and it will fall on Thursday this year. With the weekend in just a day, take a leave on 27 January and enjoy a holiday of 4 days starting from Thursday to Sunday.
February 2023
- Mahashivratri is on 18 February 2023 and it is a Saturday. Take leave on 17 February and ta-da you get a long weekend of 3 days from 17 February to 19 February.
March 2023
- If you can get a leave of 2 days in March, a five-day long weekend is waiting for you. Holi is on 8 March which is a Wednesday and with two offs on 9 and 10 March, you can extend the holiday till the weekend, making it a long vacation from 8 March to 12 March.
April 2023
- Ready for a 6-day long getaway in April? The first week of this month comes with two holidays —Mahavir Jayanti on 4 April which is a Tuesday and Good Friday on 7 April. With a leave on Wednesday and Thursday, you can enjoy a 6-day long weekend from 4 April to 9 April (Sunday).
May 2023
- With Buddha Purnima on 5 May — Friday —you get a holiday of 3 days from 5 May to 7 May without any leaves.
June 2023
- Rath Yatra will be celebrated on 20 June which is a Tuesday. If you have this holiday, you can take an off on 19 June and include the weekend (17 and 18 June) for a 4-day getaway.

June & July 2023
- Enjoy another 4-day long weekend in June by taking leave on 30 June. Bakri Eid is on 29 June which is a Friday. From Thursday to Sunday (2 July), get a 4-day holiday.
August 2023
- August brings you an opportunity for a 5-day getaway with just one off from your work calendar. Independence Day (15 August) will fall on Tuesday in 2023 with the Parsi New Year on the next day. By taking leave on 14 August, you can include the weekend (12,13 August) and plan a holiday till 16 August. Even if you don’t have an off on Parsi New Year, you get a vacation of 4 days.
- August is the month for long weekends. You get a 5-day long holiday with an off on 28 August. The weekend is on 26 and 27 August. Onam is on 29 August which is a Tuesday and Raksha Bandhan is on 30 August. From 26 to 30 August, you can fly to your favourite destination.
September 2023
- If you are getting a holiday on Janmashtami on 7 September (Thursday), take an off on 8 September. With Saturday and Sunday and the next 2 days, enjoy a 4-day getaway.
- If you get an off on Ganesh Chaturthi on 19 September, you can plan a 4-day holiday. Ganesh Chaturthi is on Tuesday and an off on 18 September (Monday) will give you a 4-day travel plan from 16 to 19 September.
October 2023
- You do not need to take any off for the first long weekend in October. Gandhi Jayanti will fall on a Monday. And with the weekends, you can get a 3-day holiday from 30 September to 2 October.
- Dussehra will fall on 24 October, Tuesday. Take an off on 23 October, a day before Dussehra, and add the weekend (21 and 22 October) for a 4-day long getaway.
November 2023
- Diwali will be celebrated on 12 November and Govardhan Puja on 13 November, Sunday and Monday respectively. If you get offs on both of these days, include Saturday and enjoy a 3-day long holiday.
- With Guru Nanak Jayanti on a Monday (27 November), enjoy a 3-day-long getaway from 25 to 27 November (Saturday to Monday).
December 2023
End the year 2023 with a 3-day long weekend starting on 23 December to Christmas on the 25th. 23 and 24 are weekends and with Christmas, you get a 3-day holiday.
