1. A Stroll at Bhuigaon Beach
This clean and green beach will make you forget about the busy and noisy city life! Take a walk here by yourself or hang out with your friends, Bhuigaon beach is sure to have your heart. Just remember to pack your own food and drinks as the beach does not house any eateries.
2. Walk through Vasai Fort
Built in 1536 by the Portuguese, the Vasai Fort is spread over 110 acres of land, 70 Km away from Mumbai. For 300 years, it served as a political and military base of the Portuguese. It’s a great spot to bring out your inner photographer, people!
3. Visit a Salt Pan in Umela Phata
This is a natural salt pan, the ground being rich in salt and minerals. Unlike the iodized salt we know, this salt is formed hard like rocks, a result of large dried up water bodies. What’s more, the salt catches the sunlight producing a shimmery effect!
4. A Walk through Panju Island
A 10-minute jetty ride away from Vasai creek and you will find yourself at Panju Island, the Koli resident area. It’s a great learning opportunity for tourists keen to know about the local way of life here.
5. Laze By The Chulna Lake
Just laze around here at the beautiful Chulna lake. Take a walk, read a book, spend some quality time with yourself!
6. Visit Mahila Mandal Restaurant
For homemade food that won’t break your bank either, you have to eat at Mahila Mandal Restaurant near New English School on Mahatma Gandhi road. The restaurant is part of an NGO that aspires to employ women, currently having 250 female employees! Mrs Vishnu Barve who is behind the idea for the restaurant, now 90, still oversees the functions here!
7. Try Out Of The Box Chicken Bujing
Don’t forget to try this unusual dish when in Vasai. It consists of chicken, fried poha and fried potatoes.
8. Visit Bhajanlal Dairy Farm
Located on the National Highway, it is a Dairy and sweet shop famous for its Lassis and Basundi. Try the Mango Lassi, Dryfruit Lassi and Sitaphal Basundi for a lip-smacking experience!
9. Have Vada Pav At Tungareshwar
Right outside the Vasai station in West, indulge in the best Vada Pav ever at Tungareshwar. The USP here is their amazing Chutney accompaniment, it is sweet unlike the spicy lasun chatni and also comes with grated Papaya!
10. Try Seafood At Farmhouse Sea & Sand Hotel
Try some heavenly seafood dishes here as you look on out at the picturesque sea, the breeze playing with your hair! Sounds great right?!
