About 1000 years old, the Key Monastery is also one of the oldest training centres for Lamas. Located at a height of 13,668 feet above sea level, Key Monastery has gorgeous architectural structures in the ‘Pasada style’. The Pasada style in monasteries has the storey form of building forts. This too has various floors and is a must-see for visitors who wish to experience calm and peaceful surroundings while in the monastery.

Magnificent Murals & Interiors

The interiors are decorated with intricate designs and magnificent murals which are as old as the structure itself. It was beautiful paintings and each temple is built on top of another. The entire monastery has three floors, from which the room of paintings attracts the most attention for its beauty.

Not only the travel enthusiasts, but Key Monastery is a must-visit place for history buffs too. It houses an antique collection of instruments and weapons put up for display for the visitors.

Location –

Located in the North of Kaza, you need to take a bus from Manali in order to visit Kee. Although from Kaza, you will have to hire a private vehicle to reach the monastery. And did we tell you, do not miss out on the herbal teas which are available there.
