Public transportation tickets will cost €9 ($9.50) a month (about ₹800 in INR) under new German government regulation. The launch was set for June, just in time for a summer getaway. The offer is available nationwide for three months, up until the end of August. Deutsche Bahn which is Germany’s national railway has already added it to their website. You can book it via DB Navigator App or the website itself. You can also book it on the website or application of regional transport companies like SSB in Munich and BVG in Berlin. the tickets can also be availed from DB ticket machines. Everyone above the age of 6 is eligible for the ticket. Each pass will be valid for a single calendar month; for instance, if you buy yours on the 15th, you’ll only be able to use it at the end of that month.

Incentivising People To Use Public Transport
The scheme is developed in response to rising energy prices and it aims to provide commuters and weekend tourists, who would normally choose to take the car, with the opportunity to take advantage of public transportation. The government has pumped a total amount of €2.5 billion ($2.6 billion) into the project. The ticket’s price amounts to around a sixth of the price of the cheapest monthly ticket available in Berlin’s central zones.
