The Punjabi singer and actor, Ammy Virk, joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, for one of our fantastic episodes of Sunday Brunch. We were at Chimichurri to gorge on delish Pan-Asian food and talk endlessly about food, travel, films and music. Curly Tales was fortunate enough to hear Ammy Virk sing his favourite song out of all the tracks he has recorded so far. Read on to find out more.
Which Is Ammy Virk’s Favourite Song?
Ammy was here to promote one of his 2024 Punjabi films, ‘Kudi Haryane Val Di’. He also led his melodious voice to some of the tracks in this film. And we wanted to know what was his favourite song out of all the songs he had ever sung.
The singer began singing a couple of lines for the Curly Tales audience from the 2019 song ‘Hath Chumme’ from the album of the same name. We were truly blessed and mesmerised by his vocals and live singing. Ammy Virk was enjoying himself while belting out this song and it was an unforgettable moment for us! Honestly, it was a perfect end to this amazing Sunday Brunch episode!

A Fun Punjabi Game Round
While we are on the topic of Punjabi songs, we might as well reflect on a fun game of dialogue translation with Ammy. We gave him iconic dialogues of Bollywood and he had to translate them into Punjabi. We started out with a bang as the first one was, “Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai, shaadi bhi ek hi baar hoti hai aur pyaar voh bhi ek hi baar hota hai.”
Ammy translated with a proper Punjabi accent,”Asi ek hi baari jiyo ne, te ek hi baari marte, te vihaa bhi ek hi baari honda, te pyaar bhi eko vaar hi honda.” Kamiya was smiling ear to ear on hearing him speak in Punjabi as he sounded exceptionally good. The next one was from the film, ‘Om Shanti Om’, “Ek chutki sindoor ki keemat, tum kya jaano Ramesh babu.”
Our guest said, “ek chutki sindoor da mul, tum ki jaane Ramesh veere.” The last one was, “Aap purush hi nahi, aap maha purush ho,” and Ammy replied, “Tussi purush nahi, tussi maha purush ho babe o.” This was truly a fun segment!
