Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, recently interviewed Neeru Bajwa and Diljit Dosanjh for a fabulous Sunday Brunch episode. We talked about the initial salary of the Canadian actress and how she spent it. Her answer was remarkably relatable as some of our readers might have done the same thing after getting their first pay cheque. Read on to find out how she spent those Canadian dollars.
How Did Neeru Bajwa Utilise Her Entire First Pay Cheque?
We wanted to know how Neeru entered the corporate world as a teen living in Canada. She disclosed that she was employed at a mall as a salesperson at the age of sixteen. She told us that her pay was based on the minimum wage which was calculated hourly. Hence, she recalled getting paid $5 to $6 per hour.
After receiving her first pay cheque, she treated her parents and grandparents to a delicious meal at a restaurant. She then chuckled and revealed that she ended up spending her entire first salary on the dinner. However, she didn’t regret feasting with her family.

Where Are Her Actual Roots?

While enjoying a flavourful meal of Vada Pav, Poha, Dahi Puri and more, we talked about Neeru’s childhood days. She currently resides in Vancouver, Canada, but is extremely attached to her Punjabi roots. Since her parents are from Punjab, her summer vacations during childhood were always spent in her hometown which is in Punjab.
She has fond memories of spending summers in her village and is very accustomed to village life. She talked about how her parents would let her enjoy each and everything. Even with no electricity and TV, she made amazing memories with her cousins. She also highlighted how she is grateful that her parents made her experience the village lifestyle of Punjab as she got the chance to connect with her roots and motherland.
