THIS Is The Only Indian Pizzeria To Rank Among World’s 100 Best Pizzerias For 2025; Full List Inside

When food lovers argue about what deserves to be called “the best in the world,” pizza inevitably enters the conversation. This week, the team behind 50 Top Pizza released its Best Pizzerias list for 2025, and once again the list stirred up equal parts celebration and debate. Italy, unsurprisingly, remains the epicentre of the craft, yet the new edition makes it clear: pizza is no longer an Italian treasure alone, it’s become a truly global story, shaped by chefs far beyond Naples.

According to 50 Top Pizza World ranking, crowning the chart of best pizzerias this year is I Masanielli – Francesco Martucci in Caserta, Italy, a place already legendary among purists. That an Italian pizzeria leads the way is hardly shocking, but what is striking is the spread that follows. From the Americas to Asia, the names that pepper the list show how the dish has been claimed, reinvented, and made personal in different corners of the world.

Closer to home, India has its own reason to cheer. At No. 35 on the best pizzerias list stands ‘da Susy’ in Gurugram, a relatively young player that has carved out a loyal following. It isn’t trying to copy Naples, its magic lies in sourcing local produce, treating the wood-fired oven with reverence, and giving Delhi-NCR diners a taste of pizza that feels rooted in place. Recognition at this level suggests Indian dining culture has entered a new phase: one where local chefs can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in Rome, Tokyo, or New York.

Bangkok Reigns; Know The Latest Pizza Trends

Asia’s momentum doesn’t stop there. Bangkok’s Peppina also makes the list, celebrated for bringing uncompromising Neapolitan standards to Thailand while letting the city’s own energy seep through. These names in the list, Gurugram and Bangkok signal a shift. The most exciting pizza narratives today aren’t limited to Italian backstreets or Brooklyn lofts; they’re emerging in places that once barely figured in global food conversations.

Step back from the rankings and a few themes come into focus. The first: technique still matters above all. Chefs who obsess over dough fermentation, slow-rising crusts, and honest wood fires continue to command respect.

The second: reinvention is thriving. Across Asia and Latin America, pizza is being bent to local rhythms, sometimes with bold toppings, sometimes just in the sourcing of flour and cheese. And the third: pizza has morphed into a universal language of comfort, one that adapts to its surroundings while still offering that familiar bite of charred crust and molten cheese.
