This Is Where Vote Counting Will Happen In Mumbai On June 4; Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Advisory And Alternate Routes

Vote counting is a pivotal event in any democracy, and as Brihan Mumbai gears up for the General Parliament Election 2024, Mumbai Police has issued a traffic advisory. Scheduled for June 6, the counting of votes for three constituencies in Brihan Mumbai will take place at the NESCO Exhibition Centre, situated along the Western Expressway, Northbound, in Goregaon East within the Jogeshwari Traffic Division.

As anticipation builds, preparations are underway to ensure that the process unfolds smoothly. It is expected that on the day of counting, the vicinity of the NESCO Exhibition Centre will witness a flurry of activity, with candidates, their supporters, media personnel, and emergency service vehicles converging in large numbers.

Such a convergence poses a significant challenge to traffic management, necessitating the implementation of appropriate measures to maintain order and ensure the unhindered flow of vehicles.

To address this challenge, authorities have devised a traffic management plan aimed at minimising disruptions and facilitating the movement of vehicles in the vicinity of the vote counting centre. As part of this plan, it has been decided that from 5 am to 6 pm on June 6, vehicular access will be restricted on the Western Express Highway, North Bound Service road from Jaycoach Junction to NESCO Gap Junction, with exceptions made only for vehicles associated with the Election Commission, as well as officers and staff involved in the vote counting process.

In addition to these restrictions, alternate routes have been identified to redirect traffic and ease congestion in the affected areas. Vehicles destined for NESCO Gap via Jaycoach Junction on the Western Expressway, North Bound Service Road will be directed to take a left turn at NESCO Gap via Jaycoach Junction Slip Road to reach their destination.

Similarly, traffic travelling from Mrinaltai Gore Junction to Jaycoach Junction will be rerouted, with vehicles instructed to make a right turn at Mrinaltai Gore Junction, followed by a U-turn above Mrinaltai Gore Bridge to proceed South Bound to Mahananda Junction, eventually accessing the slip road to Jaycoach Junction.
