Well, Kerala-based Zaara Biotech has invented cookies made of algae and seaweed, that not only taste delicious but also help fight the current battle of food crisis. Zaara Invented Healthy Cookies Made Of Algae That Contains Vitamins

Najeeb Bin Haneef, a bio-tech student from Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology founded Zaara Biotech in 2016. The company situated in Thrissur, partnered with the Indian Council of Agriculture and Research-CIFT Cochin, Govt. of India to produce the first  Algal-Seaweed food products in India. Zaara Biotech has created B-lite cookies made of micro-algae. Najeeb revealed to Your Story that the cookies are made of Spirulina. This is a type of non-toxic blue-green algae that’s a natural source of vegan protein. Spirulina is rich in vitamin E, vitamin B and beta-carotene.

The Company Will Also Launch Cosmetics Made Of Algae

Apart from Spirulina, the cookies also contain healthy ingredients like quinoa, organic whole millets and oats. Najeeb explained to Your Story that Zaara also aims to develop other food products and cosmetics like toothpaste and face packs using microalgae.
