Mahindra Thar is one of the most known and respected SUVs in India. It is known for its capability, ruggedness and safety. The go-anywhere nature of the vehicle is why it is so famous and known as an off-roading cult. There are many people who modify Thar according to their needs and preferences. Joining the bandwagon is an Indian woman who modified their Thar into a campervan with a rooftop tent.
Mahindra Thar Modified For Overlanding
The frame of the annexe room is attached to the roof’s crossbar which makes it foldable in 5 minutes when not needed. You can sleep or work in it. The room measures about 6.5 x 6.5 feet and does not occupy any additional space. The poles are made up of aluminium and the room is waterproof and can withstand heavy winds with windows for ventilation.
Amazing Rooftop Tent
The entrance of the rooftop tent is towards the Back of the SUV and has a ladder and a shoe bag. The upper portion of the tent can be opened up to look at the night sky. The rooftop tent measures about 4.5 x 7 feet with windows for ventilation. The material used for making the tent is Polyester which is waterproof and it also had additional vents so that moisture does not enter.
Other Interesting Additions
The tailgate of the SUV has a kitchen set up with a gas stove and chopping board. There are various compartments to store things and a water tank with 45 litres capacity. It also has a tap and gas for the stove. As the fourth rear seat has been removed from the modified Thar, it is now only a three-seater vehicle.
