Thousands Of Fans Sing Vande Mataram During INDvsAFG Match At Delhi Stadium; A Surreal Moment!

Cricket fans around the world have been waiting for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup to begin for a really long time. And now that the marquee tournament has started, enthusiasts are glued to the screens and enjoying the terrific clashes. India played against Afghanistan on October 11 at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium and it was a fantastic experience for the spectators. At a point in the match, the crowd started singing Vande Mataram and it was just an unimaginable moment.

A Spectacular Moment Of Crowd Singing Vande Mataram

Taking to Instagram, MyGov, Government of India (@mygovindia) shared a video of fans singing the national song last night.

In between the batting innings of India, thousands of fans came together and started singing Vande Mataram when the lights were switched off. Videos of this unexplainable moment are making rounds on social media platforms and we are getting goosebumps after watching all these clips.

Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium hosted the match between India and Afghanistan yesterday. Men in Blue completed the match with a formidable win and the second consecutive win in the series. India had a target of 273 runs and the batting innings was a treat to the eyes.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma made cricket fans extremely happy by smashing 131 runs in just 84 balls. Later, Virat Kohli smashed 55 runs. Both the amazing knocks by two of India’s best cricketers made everyone excited, happy, and enthusiastic.

India’s dominating win, the team’s performance, and of course the crowd singing the national song came together at one match and made it memorable for the fans.

Back in 2011, the crowd at the Wankhede Stadium sang Vande Mataram when India was a few runs away from clinching the ODI World Cup trophy for the second time. Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh were batting at that moment against Sri Lanka and thousands of Indians were singing the national song in joy, excitement, and pride.

In fact, the crowd was singing Vande Mataram during the last India vs Australia World Cup match at the Chepauk Stadium.
