All You Need To Know About Green Tax
Whether you are a pilgrim, an adventure seeker or just want a chill vacation in the calm hills of Uttarakhand, Green Tax will soon be a reality you will have to face. What, why and how much you ask? Well, the tax is to be levied due to the increased corrosion of the greenery of the hills, especially due to the recent NRI wedding of the Gupta Family from South Africa that also saw the likes of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif perform.

The family themselves had to pay a compensation of ₹54,000 to assist the vast cleanup procedure which took over 20 men to clear tonnes and tonnes of garbage. This was only the tip of the iceberg as the time taken for these efforts to reach fruition was over a week of continuous efforts to clean Auli, an already fragile in terms of ecology area.
How Much?
The amount of the Green Tax would be determined by the authorities who have levied the tax. Where is this collection of tax money to go? The revenue is to used for the upliftment of the environmental needs of Uttarakhand. Due to the rising pollution being caused by a large influx of tourists every year which is only growing in number. And hence, this has been devised as a method to curb this constant pollution.
