It’s time to get excited! The Mizoram government has approved a ropeway at Vantawng Falls, located near Thenzawl town in Serchhip district. As per NDTV, the initiative aims to boost tourism while supporting the local economy. The project comes under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, which focuses on infrastructure development.
The government has allocated a budget of ₹34.50 crore for the project. Authorities have already granted both financial and administrative approvals, and the process of selecting a contractor is currently underway. Once completed, tourists will get breathtaking views of the surroundings while travelling towards the falls, making the experience truly memorable.

What Is Special About Vantawng Falls?
Vantawng Falls is nestled 92 km from Aizawl. What makes it special is that it is the highest waterfall in Mizoram and ranks 13th among the highest in India. Here, the waterfall drops from a height of about 750 feet (230 metres) and features a beautiful two-tiered structure.
What is the secret behind the name of the waterfall? This waterfall is named after Vantawnga a skilled swimmer who could stay still in fast-moving water. If you are planning a visit, the best time is between October and March. During this time, the weather is pleasant.
