The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has met a long-pending request of the people of Kashmir’s Beerwah and Gulmarg constituencies by offering a Ring Road connectivity to the Gulmarg National Highway on the Narbal side. Read on to know more about this development.
NHAI Approves Ring Road Connectivity To Gulmarg
As per reports by Rising Kashmir, this ring road connectivity will bring relief to commuters and raise expectations for tourism growth in central and north Kashmir. Locals have welcomed the development, stating that the new connectivity will substantially reduce travel time to Jammu once the Ring Road becomes fully functioning across the Kashmir Valley.
A Sumo driver from the area, Javid Ahmad, spoke to the portal and said that the people of Beerwah and Gulmarg are satisfied with the initiative taken by the NHAI. He stated that the road connectivity will provide major relief to commuters travelling to Jammu, as the Ring Road is planned to reduce travel time significantly once it becomes fully functional. Ahmad also added that the improved road network would boost the tourism sector in Baramulla and Budgam districts.

He also stated that tourists are likely to prefer travelling to Kashmir by road via the Ring Road, as it will be more affordable compared to air travel. Another resident from the Beerwah district, Amir Ahmad, told the portal that the connectivity between the Gulmarg road and the Ring Road would enhance tourist inflow to famous destinations such as Gulmarg, Doodhpathri and Tosamaidan.
