The UK Lottery Visa, officially known as the India Young Professionals Scheme, allows Indian citizens aged between 18 and 30 to live, work and study in the UK for up to two years without a job offer. The last ballot of the year is all set to open on July 21, 2026. Here’s how you can apply.

UK Lottery Visa Ballot Opens On July 21 For Indian Applicants

As per the official website of the UK government, the next ballot for the India Young Professionals Scheme will open on July 21, 2026, and remain open for 48 hours. This visa allows Indian citizens to work and study in the UK without needing a job offer or employer sponsorship. According to Business Standard, this is the last chance for eligible Indian citizens to compete for the remaining places available under the annual quota of 3,000 visas.

This ballot-based visa route has become very popular among Indian students and professionals. However, selection is made through a random ballot. This means meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee a visa. You can enter the ballot free of charge, and applicants can submit their entry anytime during the 48-hour window.
