The pandemic had a negative impact on the tourism industry across the globe. Several campaigns and programmes were introduced by governments to revive the tourism. And ‘Hello Hong Kong’ is one such initiative. In fact, it is a massive campaign by the public and private sectors. They have selected several destinations from around the world that cater to tourists and business visitors. Under this campaign, the Airport Authority Hong Kong has started the ‘World Of Winners’ — a ticket giveaway initiative with Cathay Pacific, an airline company.

World of Winners, an initiative by HKIA, is currently giving away 500,000 free round-trip airline tickets to tourists from all over the world. This offer is a part of the government’s “Hello Hong Kong” initiative. The $2 billion scheme intends to draw in foreign investors while boosting Hong Kong’s tourism and commercial sectors.
From April 17 to 23, WOW will distribute 83,000 tickets to mainland Chinese travellers entering Hong Kong. It will also provide Greater Bay Area residents with 27,314 tickets between April 24 and April 30 for 46 destinations leaving from Hong Kong. From May onward, the campaign will progressively spread to markets in Northeast Asia and other regions, and from July ahead, to Hong Kong.

The ‘Hello Hong Kong’ campaign is being carried out in phases and was started on March 1st 2023.
Terms & Conditions For The Participants
Those who wish to enter the giveaway need to select their desired travel destination. Then proceed to fill out the forms — including their names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. Most importantly, participants in the giveaway must be older than 18.
Since Cathay Pacific, the flag carrier of Hong Kong, is the distributor of tickets for this giveaway, it is mandatory for them to have an account with the airline’s membership programme. Later, winners of the giveaway will receive email notifications.
Tourism is the backbone of most countries and this campaign by the government is an effort to increase tourism. And the ticket giveaway is supposed to increase travel aspirations of people.
