With the surge in cases, the Maharashtra government has made the RT-PCR test mandatory for all passengers coming in from Delhi NCR, Kerala, Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Those entering the state without the RT-PCR negative test certificate will have to compulsorily undergo a home quarantine. Passengers travelling by rail and not carrying the RT PCR negative report will have to undergo a rapid antigen test.

Passengers flying from anywhere in Maharashtra to Delhi must be mindful of the new travel guidelines in the national capital. Now, you’d compulsorily need a negative Covid Test report not older than 72 hours before departure. On reaching Delhi Airport from Maharashtra, if flyers don’t have a Covid test report, then they must undergo a strict 14-day home quarantine. SpiceJet informed flyers about this new travel guideline on Twitter, stating “Important update for passengers travelling from Maharashtra to Delhi.”
IndiGo tweeted on the official Twitter handle,
“Attention travellers from Maharashtra to Delhi
-A negative RT-PCR report (not older than 72 hours before departure) is now mandatory.
– 14-day quarantine for passengers arriving without a negative report.”
Passengers Testing Covid Positive At Delhi Airport To Undergo 10-Day Quarantine
Meanwhile, Delhi Airport conducts random testing of passengers arriving from states, facing a rise in Covid-19 cases. People found to be Covid-19 positive will have to mandatorily undergo 10-day quarantine at home, CCC or CHC or Hospital. Delhi airport had released a statement earlier stating “As per the latest government mandate, District Disaster Management Authorities will conduct random COVID-19 testing of passengers coming from the states where the cases are increasing.” India meanwhile continues to record a significant rise in coronavirus infections amid the second wave. The Union Health Ministry recorded a total tally of active cases to the 13-lakh mark.
