Starting January 1, children aged between 15 and 18 will be able to register themselves for COVID-19 vaccine on the Co-Win portal, as notified by Co-Win platform chief Dr RS Sharma. The vaccination process will begin on January 3. The authority will add an additional student ID card for the registration of children falling in this age group, as some of them might not have Aadhar cards or other ID cards. Also, only Covaxin will be available for those falling under this age group. Read on to know more.
Only Covaxin Will Be Available For The Age Group
If your kids are aged between 15 and 18 years of age, they can finally have a vaccination certificate now. The certificates can be beneficial if you’re planning to take them along on your next trips. The latest notification reads, “COVID-19 vaccination of children in the age group of 15-18 years to be started from 3rd January 2022. For such beneficiaries, vaccination option will be Covaxin only.” The World Health Organisation (WHO) finally recognised the Bharat Biotech manufactured vaccine, Covaxin under Emergency Use Listing. Several countries like Australia, Guyana, Sri Lanka, Greece, Canada and Oman have also recognised Covaxin for travel.

Centre Issues Guidelines For Precautionary Doses Of Healthcare And Frontline Workers Too
The Centre has stated that healthcare and frontline workers who have received two doses of vaccine, will receive another precautionary dose, starting January 10, 2022. They will be given priority on the basis of completion of 9 months or 36 weeks from the date of receiving the second dose. Healthcare and frontline workers aged 60 and above with comorbidities can book their precaution dose through their existing Co-Win account. The notification includes detailed beneficiaries for children too. Children can book their appointments either online or onsite ( walk-in).
For those HCWs&FLWs who have received two doses, another dose of COVID-19 vaccine would be provided from 10th Jan.
