Uttarakhand To Open Offbeat Trails For Trekkers
According to a report by Times Of India, Uttarakhand will soon open about 15 offbeat jungle trails for visitors and trekkers. Trekkers can expect some unique experiences being offered by the Uttarakhand Forest Department. Experiences like hiking through Chakrata’s dense coniferous woods, a geological outing at 1,000 feet in Kharamba, and stargazing in Molta can be expected.
Vinay Bhargav, the forest conservator of Yamuna Circle, said that 15 sites have already been identified in the state. He said that the visitors and trekkers can easily choose the trail based on their vacation duration and preferences. There are treks that are just 2.5 km long and also ones that are 65 km long that go on for a week, and trekkers can stay in camps or homestays.

The Trails Will Be Open In April
Some of the sites chosen in Uttarakhand for offbeat treks are Konain, Daragad, Jakh, Mundali, Kanasar, Naada, Kudog, Budher, Deoban, and Kahtiyan. The procedure will begin with the 65-kilometer Thadiyar March trail. It was created by the British to instruct young forest service probationers about the nuances of forestry.
It will be tentatively opened to the public in April after modifications. In the Chakrata region, the path will lead you through lovely hills with elevations varying from 542 metres to 3,067 metres.
Out of the 15 selected sites, nine are in dense forests, have no human habitation, and are rarely visited by people. Along these trails, trekkers can also stay in British-era forest rest houses.
