Travellers using the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway will now have to pay higher toll charges, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) imposing its second toll revision of the year from July 21. The latest rise takes the overall toll hike on the expressway to nearly 37% since it opened in 2023. Read on to know more.
Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway Hikes Again
As per a report by News18, the modified rates apply to the six-lane Bengaluru-Nidaghatta stretch of National Highway (NH)-275, including the Kaniminike and Sheshagirihalli toll plazas.
For cars, jeeps, vans and other light motor vehicles, the one-way toll has increased from ₹180 to ₹185. When the expressway opened in 2023, the same journey cost ₹135. The same-day return fare now stands at ₹275, while the monthly pass for 50 trips has increased from ₹5,940 to ₹6,100.

Residents living within a 20-km radius of the toll plazas will proceed to enjoy the concessional local monthly pass at ₹360, with no change in rates. The toll modification also applies across commercial vehicle categories. Light commercial vehicles, minibuses and light goods vehicles will now pay ₹295 per trip, while two-axle trucks and buses will be charged ₹620. Three-axle business vehicles will pay ₹675, large-sized construction machinery and four-to-six-axle vehicles ₹970, and vehicles with seven or more axles ₹1,180 per trip.
Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway Officially Opened In March 2023
According to NHAI, the latest update follows a toll gazette notification released in January 2023 and approval granted by the competent authority on July 18. Authorities stated that the revised charges are part of the annual toll adjustment for the 2026-27 financial year on the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta section, which is managed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). Under this framework, project costs are recovered through a mix of toll revenue and government annuity payments.

The 118-km Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway, officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2023, was built for ₹8,408 crore. The highway has decreased travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from nearly three hours to around 75 minutes and includes five bypasses along with a 52-km greenfield alignment intended to improve connectivity and ease congestion.
