Delhi International Film Festival Is Back!

The 12th Delhi International Film Festival 2026 will be held in New Delhi as a five-day event. It is being organised with the support of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Government of Delhi. The Culture and Tourism Ministries are coming on board as Associate Partners. This year, Morocco and Nigeria will be the official Country Partners, adding an international touch to the festival.

DIFF plays a special role in taking Indian cinema beyond borders. It works closely with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and acts as a key government-supported platform. Whenever Indian films are showcased at international festivals, DIFF steps in with official Indian programmes. Over the years, it has helped Indian cinema travel the world and connect with global audiences.

Big stars who will be attending this festival are Mani Ratnam, Mahesh Babu, Mammootty, Manoj Bajpayee, Sreekar Prasad, Sharmila Tagore, Muzaffar Ali, Kailash Kher, Jimmy Shergill, Manoj Tiwari, Rituparna Sengupta, Sanjay Mishra, Yashpal Sharma, Piyush Mishra, and Tigmanshu Dhulia.

Films Showcasing At This Festival

This year, DIFF is bringing stories from around 50 countries to the big screen. The lineup includes Indian Showcase, World Cinema, Arab Cinema, NRI Cinema, and Cinema Across the Border. The opening and closing ceremonies are expected to be major crowd-pullers. This edition is also special as it marks the final year of the festival’s focus on Arab Cinema and films from India’s North Eastern states.

This year, DIFF is also putting the spotlight on stories that truly matter. The festival will showcase films centred on social issues, with a strong focus on women’s empowerment and children. Taking its global vision forward, DIFF has introduced the DIFFA Awards, which will be hosted overseas every year. In 2026, the Lifetime Achievement Award will honour legends Usha Uthup and Ramesh Sippy.
