According to India Today, Scotland’s 1-0 win over Haiti at Boston’s Gillette Stadium sparked jubilant celebrations among Scottish fans. The revelry was so intense that bars across the city reportedly ran out of beer, prompting emergency deliveries to keep up with the demand.
Reuters reported that many establishments across Boston were forced to arrange emergency beer deliveries after Scotland football fans nearly drank them dry over the opening weekend of the FIFA World Cup! In fact, several taprooms in the city feared they might have to stock up on beer cans if fresh supplies did not arrive in time.

Celebrating Scotland’s Return To The World Cup
Scotland’s football fans, popularly known as the “Tartan Army,” have turned Boston into a home away from home, with the city hosting the team’s opening-round FIFA World Cup matches. Scotland is set to face Morocco next at the same stadium.
Following the team’s opening victory, thousands of Scottish supporters flooded the city’s streets and pubs, reportedly drinking their way through keg after keg and forcing several establishments to arrange emergency beer restocks.
Speaking to the media, a spokesperson for Boston Beer Co. said the surge in demand was so overwhelming that the company’s taproom ran out of its flagship Samuel Adams Boston Lager over the weekend. The venue reportedly sold more than 3,000 pints and emptied 70 kegs by Monday morning.
