A post titled “Finally decided to leave India” was recently shared on Reddit and has quickly gained attention. The post, written by a 27-year-old man (@u/eklavye) living in India, mentions that he graduated from a Tier-1 engineering college and currently works for FAANG. He explained that he was always against the idea of moving abroad and wanted to build his life in India. But now, he has finally decided to leave India. The user wrote that despite living in one of Delhi’s posh colonies, the city still struggles with basic infrastructure, unclean air, poor drainage systems during the monsoon, and security concerns.

He also mentioned how the “dire state of governance and injustice” made him lose hope. The post ended with him writing, “So, better live in a country where you have at least basic dignity of life, I didn’t study so hard to experience this. This was just a rant, I never thought a day would come when I would fall out of love with this beautiful country, but I am done.”

Netizens’ Mixed Reactions To The Reddit Post

The post went viral and received hundreds of reactions from other users. When someone asked which country he was planning to move to, he replied that he was moving to Luxembourg. Many users supported his decision and wished him luck, while others reminded him that every country comes with its challenges.

One Reddit user commented, “Best of luck, every nation has its own challenges, but yes, you are 100% right, we all have one life, make the most of it and do what feels right to you.” Another said, “You made the right decision. If you don’t have any major responsibilities at home, and there’s nothing keeping you from moving.”

However, a few also pointed out that while life abroad might offer better infrastructure, it often means staying away from family and loved ones, something not everyone can handle.

Clearly, the Reddit post garnered mixed reactions from people on the internet. Some agreed that the country’s poor infrastructure pushes professionals to move abroad, while others argued that problems exist in every country.
