Blogger couple Sangeeth & Kavya (@lifeonroads__) recently took to their Instagram handle to share a reel where they talked about how they sustain a lifestyle with zero cost of living. In the video, Kavya shared, “We are the couple who were called stupid for investing 60% of our savings to build a home which most people would find messy. But what’s interesting is our little home has zero cost of living.”
Imagining daily chores with zero cost of living may seem impossible, but this Indian couple proved otherwise. In the video, she explained how they manage their daily routine. She mentions that they get fish and vegetables from their little kitchen garden, and they cultivate their own rice. For protein, they have chickens and cows, that provide them with eggs and milk.

The interesting part is that their sustainable home has a biogas plant, and all wet waste and cow dung goes in it. With these methods, they don’t have to spend money on food or even cooking it. She added, “Compost becomes great nutrition for entire home, and of course, solar gives power for entire home and irrigation. And if we have extra, we sell it for a bit of money to keep building our dream home.”
This also harvest mushrooms every 25 days and have a wooden box full of bees that provide them with pure honey.
