In the USA, roads are built with a slight slope, which helps rainwater flow towards drains instead of collecting on the surface. She also noted that drains are placed at short distances, allowing water to move away quickly.
Deora also explained that rainwater from house roofs is collected through special pipes. These pipes carry the water down from the roof. In some homes, the pipes connect directly to underground drains, while in others, the water flows onto the road before entering nearby drains.
