Various videos have been going viral online showing how one town has been dominated by hundreds of peacocks. These peacocks have now spread across Punta Marina, Italy. It is coastal town where the birds have become a regular part of daily life. People often spot them walking through streets, sitting on balconies, and even gathering near the beach. While many residents enjoy their presence, others say the growing number of birds is becoming difficult to manage.
Locals say the peacocks quietly lived for years inside an abandoned aeronautical complex near the town. However, as per Yahoo News Canada, during the COVID-19 pandemic, their numbers suddenly started growing fast. And now? The birds seem to have decided that the entire town belongs to them!

How Are Residents Reacting To This?
Now everyone is pleased to see hundreds of peacock on the streets. Speaking with France 24, many resident complained. They said that peacocks create loud noises at night, damage cars by scratching them, and leave droppings across roads and public areas.
At the same time, many locals believe the birds have become an important part of the town’s identity. Some residents described the peacocks as “magical” and said they have lived peacefully alongside them for years. Others feel the birds should be moved to forests or natural spaces where they can live safely without disturbing people.
