One Killed, And 39 Injured After Bus Carrying Pilgrims To Vaishno Devi In J&K Falls Into Gorge

In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir, a bus carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine skidded off the road and fell into a gorge. One person died, while 39 others were injured. The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

In Jammu and Kashmir, a bus carrying pilgrims to the famous Mata Vaishno Devi shrine met with an accident. On Thursday, August 21, the bus suddenly skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near a small bridge at Jatwal. As per reports, one person died and 39 others were injured. Bus Carrying Pilgrims In Jammu And Kashmir Fell Into Gorge

On Thursday, August 21, a shocking incident took place in Jammu and Kashmir. According to News 18, a tyre burst caused the bus to lose control, skid off the road and land in a gorge. Among the 40 passengers, one person was declared dead, and the others suffered injuries. The deceased is identified as 45-year-old Iqbal Singh from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh.

In this accident, some passengers had minor injuries, whereas others were immediately rushed to the hospital. The Office of the Chief Minister, J&K addressed this incident on X and wrote,Chief Minister has expressed grief over the tragic bus accident in Samba carrying Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims, which has claimed one life and left many injured. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured all possible assistance.”

Authorites Are Investigating This Matter

The local authorities are providing assistance and support to the victims. The local administration in Samba has recently been investigating this case to know the exact cause of the accident and working to improve safety measures along this stretch of the highway. The accident in the region happened amid the heavy rainfall warnings in the region. Schools and colleges are already shut, and people are advised to drive safely.

This is not the first time that a bus carrying pilgrims has met this fate. It has been a recurring issue as these buses travel long distances on hilly and narrow roads to ferry passengers to holy sites. The bus drivers should strictly follow the guidelines and ensure they check vehicles before starting their journey. Driving at safe speeds and being extra careful in rainy or slippery conditions is also advised. Officials are now keeping a close watch to ensure such incidents are prevented in the future.
